Margareta Matišić (mezzo-soprano) was born in 1989. In 2018 she debuted at the Croatian National Theater “Ivan pl. Zajc” in Rijeka as Mistress Quickly in Falstaff by G. Verdi. In 2019 she sang the role of Third lady in Magic flute by W. A. Mozart in Croatian National Theater in Zagreb. She is currently playing the role of Suzuki from Madame Butterfly at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb.
She played the role of Maria Theresa in the musical "Trenk Cabare" in 2011 and 2012, which was performed at the Komedija Theater in Zagreb and in concert halls throughout Croatia. She sang the role of Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, performed in Pécs and Osijek in 2008.
In 2018 she was one of the finalists at the International Zinka Milanov Singing Competition in Rijeka, Croatia. In 2016 she qualified for the finals of the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Cape Town, South Africa.
In 2019 she performed as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the concert hall of Vatroslav Lisinski in Zagreb under the guidance of maestro David Danzmayr. In 2016 she performed a piece by Josip Štolcer Slavenski “Chaos and Religiophony” as a soloist with the Zagreb Music Academy Symphony Orchestra and the choir at Vatroslav Lisinski Music Hall in Zagreb, as well as at the Slovenian Philharmonics Hall in Ljubljana under the direction of conductor Mladen Tarbuk. She performed the same composition at the 43rd May Music Memorial in Čakovec under the direction of conductor Matija Fortuna. She has worked with conductors such as Marco Boemi, Nikša Bareza, Ville Matvejeff, Tomislav Fačini, Zoran Juranić, Beatrice Venezi, Pyotr Vandilovsky and others.
She performed with the renowned Belarusian National Chamber Orchestra at Varaždin Baroque Evenings, at the Osijek Summer of Culture, Science Festival, Osijek Youth Summer, Vukovar Chamber Music Festival. In 2010 she was a member of the Osijek Chamber Music Ensemble. She has performed as a soloist and with ensembles in Croatia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Italy, Spain, etc.
She graduated with honours in 2011 from the Academy of Arts in Osijek in the class of Professor Berislav Jerković. In June 2012 she received her Master's degree from the same Academy thus gaining the academic tile of Master of Music. In 2010 she received the Dean's award for her successful artistic work and academic achievement.
From 2015 to 2017 she continued her training under renowned prima donna Vlatka Oršanić at the Academy of Music in Zagreb.
In 2018 she participated in the International Ebe Stignani Singing Masterclass in Imola, Italy. She attended summer seminars on lied interpretation run by Professor Annemarie Zeller and Professor Gerhard Zeller, as well as the “Aestas Musica” (London) summer seminars on baroque music and dance organized in Varaždin.
She took part in the international singing seminar on the application of science of voice and technology in voice teaching run by Scott McCoy. In 2016 she attended a seminar in Zagreb run by Renata Pokupić. She also works as an educator.
